For years the dreams of seeing the stars and saving the galaxy, sailing the seas, driving fast cars, exploring other worlds and shooting Nazis in the face have been supplied
to consumers by boring flat TV screens.
Not anymore though, the world's first affordable and consumer focused VR headset is set to change the lives of gamers, moviegoers and entertainment junkies alike.

Enter the Oculus Rift, set to be the first consumer based VR (virtual reality) headset launching in 2016.
The company got its start in 2012 when founders Palmer Luckey and John Carmack announced the Oculus prototype to the world at E3.
What followed was a Kickstarter campaign raising $2.5 million dollars, after being acquired by Facebook Oculus went into overdrive.
The Oculus is set for a release date of early 2016, so you'll have to hold onto your boring TV for a little bit longer, but then feel free to throw that ancient relic in the trash as you'll have access to a fully immersive headset that will change entertainment forever.
Specs below for those techy people out there:
1080x1200 resolution per eye
